Green Platygyra are incredible brain corals. They feature deep valleys that shine fluorescent green, and channeling walls that create intricate, spiraling patterns. As a result, these highly sought after corals are also known as worm corals.
Platygyra colonies do well in areas with low to moderate light and moderate flow rates. Compared to other brain corals, they have proved to be more tolerant to changing light conditions. However, it is sensible to start the coral off in lower light to allow it to settle. It is best to keep Green Platygyra away from nearby corals. This is due to their sweeper tentacles, which can deliver a fairly strong sting.
Platygyra should be fed a variety of foods small meaty foods, such as microplankton, small mysis or brine shrimp.
