Red Green Symphyllia are remarkable brain corals that feature striking, red and green bands. Once established, these corals can make impressive focal points in the tank. Symphyllia have diverse textures and are well known for their brilliant colours and patterns. Often, different light conditions will bring out various hues from the same coral. Making Symphyllia one of the more interesting corals available in this hobby.
These corals are relatively hardy. Symphyllias’ ability to deal with lower light levels, allow them to occupy spaces that are out of bounds to other brain corals. As a result, gaps in your aquascape could be filled by Red Green Symphyllia. These brain corals do possess sweeper tentacles. This means that neighbouring corals should be a good distance away, to prevent unwanted aggression.
Red Green Symphyllia should be placed in low to moderate light intensities. Currents should be strong enough to prevent smothering but not too strong to inhibit feeding. These corals can be feed a variety of small foods, such as plankton, powders and amino acids.
